At present, 90-95% of manganese is widely used in the metallurgical industry as deoxidizer and desulfurizer for iron and steel making and manganese alloy raw materials. The countries with rich manganese resources in the world are South Africa, Ukraine, Gabon, Australia, Brazil, Georgia, India and other countries in turn. Although China has 560 million tons of manganese reserves (Statistics in 2004), the average grade is only 20%, and the available resources are relatively limited, mainly distributed in Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan and other places.
